
9th MAY, ETNA MARATHON 2010
In 2010 bikers will get the chance to take on challenge of the highest active volcano in Europe. Like in 2009, racers coming form all over Europe will set off from piazza Belvedere in the town of Milo (Catania), that will attempt to master the unbeatable Mountain.
The Marathon course as changed compared 2009, it will be clockwise, although the distance, the level of technical difficulty and the thrilling final 10km-long singletrack descent will be the same. Same unique spectacular scenery: Mount Etna.
The race will start and end in Milo.
The races: 63km-long marathon with 1750m of vertical ascent, the shorter 28km-long excursionist route with 800m of vertical ascent.
Flight info: Catania Airport (40 mins drive from Milo) Both British Airways and Air Malta operate daily flights from London Gatwick.
Palermo airport (3 hours drive) Ryan Air flies from Stansted on a daily basis.
